Jab We Met (2007)

The movie 'Jab We Met' is an Indian rom-com movie written and directed by the famous director Imtiaz Ali and produced by Dhilin Mehta. The film stars two of the most cherished movie-couple Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor. The film managed to receive critical cclaimims and has even developed a big following since its release in the year 2007. The film was found to be among the top-grossing Hindi films of that year.

Ashtavinayak announced later, that 'Jab We Met' would be remade by Moser Baer in four other Indian languages, namely -  Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam also. It was then remade only in the Tamil language as 'Kanden Kadhalai', followed by a Telugu dubbed version called 'Priya Priyathama'.

'Jab We Met' was primarily shot across Mumbai, Bhatinda, and Shimla. It tells the story of a Punjabi girl named Geet Dhillon who was sent off track, quite literally, when she accidentally bumps into a depressed Mumbai businessman, Aditya Kashyap, on a train to the state of Delhi. While she was attempting to get him back on board at the right railway station, both of them get left behind. Aditya, having walked out of his business after being dumped by his previous girlfriend, has no destination in mind. Until Geet manages to force him to accompany her back to her home. She basically planned to elope with her secret boyfriend, Anshuman. The lore goes on further complexities and at the end, there is a plot twist.

The film also fetched several awards among which was a 'National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer' awarded to Shreya Ghoshal for the song 'Yeh Ishq Haaye'. Personally, I enjoy a song from this movie called 'Tum Se Hi', which was sung by Mohit Chauhan. It still brings back the warm memories of my childhood and all the fleeting comforting moments of that time.
